Don’t Overpay for a Battery You Don’t Need for Inverter/UPS. Is it possible to have an option of selecting different sizes of batteries in an Inverter/UPS?

This is called scalable battery backup or Modular battery backup.

With scalable battery backup, you can start with a small UPS battery and increase the size of the batteries as your needs grow. This can save you money in the long run, as you don’t have to buy a larger battery up front.

Different sizes of SMF batteries

There are a few things to remember when choosing a UPS with scalable battery backup. First, you must ensure the UPS is compatible with your desired batteries. Second, you must provide the UPS has enough capacity to support the load you need to protect.

Once you have chosen a UPS with scalable battery backup, you can increase the size of batteries as your needs grow. This is a great way to future-proof your Inverter/UPS and ensure enough backup power to protect your critical devices.

This feature is a brilliant feature packed into this Inverter/UPS as it helps the customer select the different battery sizes.
As time changes, the power condition in different geographies change over time, so let us take an example that today in a city like Gurgaon, power cuts are widespread, and each power cut has two hours of the blackout so that the user will buy a battery according to the two hours back up capacity.
But after two years, this power cut was reduced to 15 min; his requirement changed. He needs a battery only for 15 min backup. Still, in actuality, he will not be able to take a smaller battery as the UPS is designed for the 2 hours backup battery, so the general UPS/Inverters available in the industry are of 15 A fixed charger where a minimum battery will be from 150-200 Ah will be used if a customer wants to use the smaller battery in the very same UPS than that battery will be swelled over some time because the current is too high for a smaller battery to handle.
Keeping this problem in mind, we designed the different types of chargers in a single UPS using AI technology, and the selection of smaller to bigger batteries can be selected through the switches provided at the back of the UPS.

We have made the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth-based dongle which can be fitted to any of our Inverter/UPS, Solar hybrid UPS which has a setting section from where one can easily select the battery charging current and store it. The application will show you which charging current you have chosen so you don’t go wrong in the selection.
So the customer has future insurance provided that whenever he changes the battery, they can select the smaller to the bigger battery as per the power situation in their region. This gives a customer a significant advantage compared to fixed battery charging technology.
We at Su-vastika have understood this challenge and designed our chargers according to the future and present requirements of the user.https://suvastika.com/pure-sine-wave-ups-atc-with-led-1100-12v/

We have a mobile application that works on Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, and the battery selection feature can be controlled from this application in the settings. You can change the battery size.https://suvastika.com/dont-overpay-for-a-battery-you-dont-need-for-inverter-ups/

The Back Panel of Pure Sinewave UPS with ATC has selection switches to select different battery sizes.

You must change the charging current for a smaller to bigger battery sizing based on your requirement.

Also, we have the Lithium battery selection in our Pure Sinewave UPS with ATC model.

A Lithium battery can be charged faster in two hours, so that we can select a higher charging current.

Whereas the Tubular lead Acid needs a minimum of 10 hours to set, we need to charge the battery with the 10% charging current only but for the lithium battery. We can select the 50% charging current to charge it in 2 hours.

Here are some of the benefits of having the option of selecting different sizes of batteries in a UPS:

  • Cost savings: Start with a small UPS and add more batteries as your needs grow. In the long run, this can save you money, as you don’t have to buy a larger UPS battery upfront. As the battery is costlier than UPS/Inverter price
  • Flexibility: You can customize the UPS to fit your specific needs. For example, if you have a small office, you can start with a small UPS battery and replace it with a bigger battery as your business grows.
  • Scalability: You can quickly scale the UPS as your needs grow. This is a great way to future-proof your UPS and ensure enough backup power to protect your critical devices.

If you are considering a UPS, I recommend looking for one that offers scalable battery backup. This will give you the flexibility and scalability to protect your critical devices’ upload.

  1. […] The Capacity of the battery we get in Lithium Vs Tubular battery: this is the mind-boggling parameter which will be understood by people soon that the Tubular battery comes in C20 Capacity sticker or the Solar battery comes in C10 capacity sticker. The Lithium battery comes in a C1 capacity package. How do we understand this factor?https://suvastika.com/battery-size-selection-in-ups-inverter-for-cost-saving/ […]
